Embarking on the journey of The Strategic Motivator Show was both exhilarating and serendipitous. Opting for a live, in-person video podcast introduced its own set of challenges, from coordinating schedules to managing technical setups. Our inaugural episode featured the dynamic Aprille Franks, a renowned business coach and motivator. Securing her participation was a testament to the adage, "Ask, and you shall receive." While attending one of her classes, I took a leap of faith and invited her to be a guest on my show. To my delight, she graciously accepted. The challenge, however, was logistical—Aprille resided in Las Vegas, while I was based in Washington, D.C. The "how" and "when" of making this interview happen were uncertain, but fate had its own plans. Shortly after our conversation, an unexpected opportunity arose. My best friend's husband invited me to join a surprise trip to Las Vegas for his wife's birthday. Recognizing the synchronicity, I seized the moment. Upon arrival, I booked a suite to serve as our recording venue. The initial room offered was far from ideal—its cartoonish decor clashed with the professional ambiance I envisioned. Trusting my instincts, I requested an alternative and was rewarded with a luxurious suite, complete with a Knoll Saarinen table—a personal favorite. It felt as though the universe was aligning every detail to perfection. To ensure a seamless experience for Aprille, I strategically created a website to guide her through the submission of her bio and photograph. Managing the technical aspects single-handedly, I invested in an SLR camera for primary recording and used my iPad as a backup. Coincidentally, the iPad's recording delivered superior sound and footage quality. This outcome highlights the advancements in mobile technology, where devices like the iPad can sometimes outperform traditional equipment in certain scenarios. The process was demanding, and exhaustion was inevitable, but the passion for capturing these strategic moments kept me present and engaged. Reflecting on this behind-the-scenes journey, it's evident that determination, adaptability, and a touch of serendipity were instrumental in bringing the first episode to life. This experience not only set the foundation for the show but also reinforced the power of intention and action in realizing one's vision. Below are a few clips made to promote the show.
